Ciara White, BSc (Hons), MSc, MSCP.
Ciara completed her BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation and Exercise physiology at Carlow IT, Ireland. Following an internship position at Texas A&M University Football department, Ciara then went on to complete her MSc Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton.
She completed her junior rotations with Solent NHS in the city of Portsmouth and covered a variety of areas including musculoskeletal outpatients, trauma and orthopaedics, Neuro (acute & Rehab) and respiratory.
Whilst covering rotations Ciara also worked part time with Solent University providing physiotherapy support to student athletes within the University’s elite sports programme as well as providing pitch side support for several south coast rugby clubs.
In 2012 Ciara moved to Dubai where she joined Up and Running, Integrated Sports Medical Centre where she worked for over 5 years. Alongside her clinic work Ciara was team physio for Dubai Dragons AFL club, as well as several ICC cricket, Rugby, Running and Triathlon events around the city.
Ciara has developed a special interest in running Biomechanics leading her to study further on gait analysis and run specific re- training. Her aim through thorough assessment is to identify and correct dysfunctional movement patterns that cause overuse injuries or impair efficiency in endurance athletes.
Whatever the injury or complaint may be, Ciara uses a patient specific treatment approach tailored to the needs of the patient. Her skills combine manual therapy, Pilates and sports specific rehabilitation to gain the best possible outcome for her patients. Through her own personal involvement in competitive running, Ciara has experienced first-hand the frustrations of injury and recognises the importance of getting her patients back to whatever they love as quickly as possible.
